Promoting alternative fuels in Cyprus: ideopsis at the 3rd Green Connect Workshop
ideopsis had the privilege of participating and contributing to the 3rd Green Connect Workshop organized by the University of Salford Manchester and the British High Commission. Held at the Home for Cooperation on February 15, 2024, the workshop featured insightful presentations on energy, water, and waste by academics and professionals.
The Green Connect Workshop series is designed to investigate into the latest scientific research in renewable energy and address the unique challenges that Cyprus grapples with amid the climate change emergency. The primary goal is to foster collaboration between scientists and expert speakers from both the UK and Cyprus, providing valuable insights to the academic community and the wider public.
Dr. Chryso Sotiriou, Senior Energy Policy & Climate Change Expert at ideopsis, delivered a presentation on the potential of alternative fuels in Cyprus, with a specific focus on green hydrogen. The GreenH2CY project, co-funded by the European Union, was also showcased. This initiative aims to meet the increasing demand for sustainable alternatives in the transport sector, representing a significant step towards revolutionizing transportation by offering green hydrogen.
