Background
Chryso Sotiriou, PhD graduated from the Department of Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a specialization in Atmospheric and Environmental Physics. She holds an MSc in Energy Resources Management and a PhD in Environmental Economics and Policy. Her research and consulting work extend to the decarbonisation of the economy and the optimal design of climate change mitigation strategies. She has experience in multi-objective optimization. During her doctoral studies, she worked as a Teaching Assistant for various courses of the Department of Chemical Engineering of Cyprus University of Technology. Upon completion of her doctoral studies, she received the position of Specialist Scientist for the teaching of the undergraduate course “Economics – Principles of Business Administration” at the same department. She has been a trainer in International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) workshops promoting a tool developed in the context of her research work as a way of evaluating energy and environmental policies, in the context of the formulation of the National Energy and Climate Plans for 2030.
From August 2021 to March 2022, she joined the Department of Energy and Environment of Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) and from March 2022, she joined the team of ideopsis ltd as an energy policy and climate change expert. She is also a founding member of NGO kyklOIKOdromio.
