ideopsis implements the training programme "Challenges in the construction or renovation of green public buildings"
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced the launch of a training programme entitled “Challenges in the construction or renovation of green public buildings” on Thursday 9 November 2023.
The programme aims to meet the training needs of engineers from the Public Works and Electromechanical Services Departments of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works on green transition issues and to provide them with information regarding the challenges will be faced in constructing or renovating buildings as a result of the Fit for 55 climate target. This is an important initiative of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works taking into account the role of public buildings in achieving climate neutrality objectives.
The training programme was welcomed by the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Alexis Vafeadis, in the presence of the Director General of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Antonis Koutsoullis, the Director of the Department of Electromechanical Services, Mr. Markos Markou and the Deputy Director of the Department of Public Works, Mr. Eleftherios Eleftheriou on the 9th November 2023.
The topics that will be addressed by the the training programme are the following: sustainable design, circular construction, energy efficiency, bioclimatic design, use of renewable energy sources, use of renewable materials, modernisation and renovation, indoor environmental quality, as well as other environmental issues.
Useful information will be gained by participants through the implementation of the training programme to make the stock of public buildings greener, more user-friendly and less resource and energy consuming.
Public buildings play an exemplary role in society as centres of culture, education, meeting, health care, governance, safety and more. These buildings reflect the values and needs of society and contribute to improving the quality of life of our citizens.
Our company, ideopsis Ltd, undertook the design and content of this training programme to meet the needs of engineers in the Public Works and Electromechanical Services Departments of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works. ideopsis would like to express scincere graditute to the Minister and the trainers Emilios Michael, Chryso Sotiriou, Dimitris Hatzigrigoriou, Democratis Grigoriadis, Venizelos Efthymiou, Alexis Polycarpou, George Pantelidis and Anthi Charalambous, who will make every effort to pass on their knowledge and experiences.
The programme will last 38 hours, is expected to be attended by more than 80 participants and will be completed in November 2023.
