Contract Award to ideopsis Ltd for the Study on the Recording of Fluorinated Gases and Ozone Depleting Substances in Cyprus.

On 7 November 2025, a contract was signed between the Department of Environment and ideopsis Ltd for the Study on the Recording of Fluorinated Gases and Ozone Depleting Substances.

The contract has a duration of ten (10) months.

The scope of the Contract includes the identification, recording, and categorisation of fluorinated gases, ozone-depleting substances, and other refrigerants present in all types of equipment across Cyprus — including refrigeration, air conditioning, and fire protection systems.
The study will record these substances by equipment type and location.
In addition, the project will include the recording of alternative refrigerants in cases where the equipment does not contain fluorinated gases or ozone-depleting substances.

The study aims to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date inventory of the use of fluorinated gases and ozone-depleting substances in Cyprus.
This information is essential for the effective implementation of national and EU regulations, supporting the monitoring, control, and progressive reduction of substances that contribute to climate change and ozone layer depletion.
