ideopsis participated in the 6th Interregional Meeting of the “Share Renewable Energy through Energy Communities (ShareRES)” project held in Nicosia on 15-16 October 2025. The event was organised by the Nicosia Development Agency.

Among other activities, the meeting included a study visit at the Nicosia Town Hall, where the partners had the opportunity to learn about the newly established “Lefkothea Citizen Energy Community”.

Representing the Nicosia Municipality, the Deputy Mayor Mr. Chrysanthos Fakas addressed the meeting, emphasising the Municipality’s commitment to an equitable and just transition to clean energy for all citizens and underlining its leading role in establishing Lefkothea as a means to achieve this vision.

Dr. Anna Artemi, Energy Policy Expert at ideopsis presented the motivation behind Lefkothea’s vision and objectives, along with elements of its core structure. She placed special mention to the Energy Community’s commitment to include vulnerable and energy-disadvantaged citizen groups in the Energy Community, closing the gap in accessing energy autonomy among the community. She also highlighted Lefkothea’s main milestones and achievements to date, as well as its planned actions for the next six months.

The presentation was followed by an exchange of ideas with the project partners, whose shared goal is to empower citizens to actively participate in the clean energy transition through Energy Communities, while addressing challenges such as legal restrictions, administrative burdens, and punitive tariffs.
