Green Hydrogen Economy in Cyprus event
On Wednesday, 7 May 2025, a successful seminar titled “The Potential and Development of the Green Hydrogen Economy in Cyprus and its Impact on the Environment” was held at the ETEK Educational and Cultural Center in Nicosia.
The event was jointly organized by the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot engineers’ contact committees on engineering issues, as part of their ongoing collaboration to address shared challenges and opportunities in the field of sustainable development.
From 17:00 to 19:30, professionals, policymakers, and members of the public gathered to explore the potential of green hydrogen as a key pillar in Cyprus’s clean energy transition. The seminar featured expert presentations and discussions on the environmental impact, technological progress, and policy frameworks supporting the growth of the green hydrogen economy.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation by ideopsis team member, Dr. Chryso Sotiriou, who delivered valuable insights into the role of hydrogen in transforming the transport sector—a critical component in achieving climate neutrality.
We extend our gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organizers for making this event a platform for knowledge exchange and cross-community collaboration. Events like this demonstrate the power of joint initiatives in shaping a more sustainable and unified future for Cyprus.
