A Technical Seminar “Energy in Buildings 2023” is organized on 8th of April 2023 9:30 – 16:00, by ASHRAE Chapters of Greece and Cyprus and will be held at Cyprus International Fair Grounds.

The member of ideopsis team, Dr Chryso Sotiriou will present on the prioritization of climate change mitigation measures in the building sector and on the way to determine cost-effective decarbonization pathways and evaluate the economics of greenhouse gas emissions reductions.

The EU has set itself the goal of reaching climate neutrality by 2050 and of cutting net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% compared to 1990 levels by 2030. Elements of “Fit for 55” Package that will contribute to those goals, i.e., the revision of the Effort Sharing Regulation (ESR) and the reform of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), where a new ETS (ETS II) is proposed, will put pressure on the building sector and the decarbonisation effort.
